Daniel Aubrey longlisted for Scotland’s National Book Award
The Saltire Society has announced the longlists for Scotland’s National Book Awards, which ‘present a snapshot of Scotland’s vibrant literary landscape across Fiction, Non-Fiction, First Book, Poetry and Research’ and DKW are delighted that Daniel Aubrey’s debut novel Dark Island has been nominated in the First Book of the Year category. Dark Island was also recently shortlisted for the Bloody Scotland Debut Prize 2024 and for the inaugural McDermid Debut Award.

Dark Island was published by HarperNorth on 25th April 2024 and rights have sold in the following languages so far: Czech (Bourdon), French (JC Lattes), Russian (AST), Swedish (Lind & Co), Ukrainian (Laboratory).
The shortlists for Scotland’s National Book Awards will be revealed on 30 October, followed by the winners in each category on 28 November.
