Katherine Ferguson grew up exploring the wild coasts of Aotearoa, New Zealand, and believing that fairies lived under her trampoline. Surrounded by a family of booklovers, her first ‘manuscripts’ were full of mermaids, elves, and magical schools she wished she could attend.

Katherine has a degree in History, Media Studies, and English Literature from Victoria University and inflicts her latest nerdy obsessions on high school students as an English and Film teacher. She lives in Whakatū, Nelson, with her husband, golden retriever, and orange cat.

Her equal part fear and love of the ocean inspired her debut YA romantasy novel.
