Lis gained a Masters Degree in Children’s Literature with Writing for Children from Birkbeck College, where she was taught by Julia Bell and Michael Rosen, and subsequently completed a Writing for Children course with Curtis Brown Creative. She was longlisted in the Mslexia Children’s Novel competition in 2016 and recently came joint runner up in a short YA story competition run by The Royal Society for Public Health. She is a qualified English teacher and lives in London with her husband and two young children.
Lis has not yet realised her childhood ambition to become a fishmonger and is instead working as a teaching assistant in a primary school and writing novels. Her first, MY FATHER’S GHOST, is a modern-day retelling of Hamlet, set amongst the snowy mountains, lake and forest surrounding a family-run Danish hotel – a supernatural Shakesperean Scandi-noir for a YA audience.← Previous Next →
