Katharine is a dedicated introvert, which means writing profiles about herself can feel highly counterintuitive.
She has worked selling bath bombs, as a copywriter, for an indie children’s publisher, and also with stained and fused glass, where she learned everything she could about this simultaneously ancient and innovative world. Her second book for children, Glassheart, grew out of this passion, while her debut Nevertell came from a deep love of folklore, fairy tales and history.
The Hunting of the Snark by Lewis Carroll is Katharine’s favourite book ever, but she reads widely and enjoys discovering new things. She is a lover of film, horror, and music of most genres – but especially if it’s loud and played in a dingy room full of people wearing black t-shirts. She lives with her husband and son in Bristol, but unfortunately she isn’t Banksy.
