Katharine Orton grew up in London, and gained an English Degree and a Masters in Creative Writing. When she landed a job with an independent children’s publisher, it cemented her lifelong desire to be on the other side of the process – as a writer.
Her favourite book is an illustrated copy of The Hunting of the Snark by Lewis Caroll, given to her by her Nan. She loves fairy tales, and anything with a touch of the macabre.
She now lives in Bristol with her husband and son, and though she has yet to find a family connection to Joe Orton, she still has hope.
Katharine’s debut children’s book, Nevertell, was published by Walker Books in 2019. Her second book, Glassheart, will be published in November 2020.
