Elizabeth Shapiro grew up in Connecticut where her favorite memories involve the bookmobile. She has been a barista, a librarian and once had a job assembling toilet flappers.
At the University of Chicago, she met her husband while hanging lights for a theatre production and went on to run a psychology research lab. Elizabeth’s M.A. in Education allowed her to give talks and write articles about the importance of rich literature in classrooms. As an inner-city teacher, she gave YA novels to teenagers and encouraged them to write and find their own voices.
Since moving to England, Elizabeth has been the youngest tour guide at the Royal School of Needlework and a student at the Golden Egg Academy. She was shortlisted for the 2019 Bath Children’s Novel Award.
When she’s not reading or curled up with her dogs, you can find her telling ghost stories at the Historic Royal Palaces, baking her way through all of Mary Berry’s cookbooks or scrambling up fells after her husband and son.← Previous Next →
