Prior to co-launching DKW in 2012, Ella worked at Andrew Nurnberg Associates as an Assistant Literary Agent for three years. She loves the creative side of collaborating with authors, pitching exciting projects and handling negotiations. Ella represents upmarket contemporary and historical fiction, crime fiction, speculative fiction, and some non-fiction. She also represents a wide range of children’s fiction for the 9-12 and YA age groups. She is passionate about finding and championing new voices, including those traditionally under-represented in publishing.
She has an MA in Publishing from University College London and a BA in Anglo-Saxon, Norse and Celtic from the University of Cambridge. She was Chair of the Society of Young Publishers in 2011, and has also volunteered as the SYP’s Events Officer and Treasurer; as an SYP alumna she has offered mentoring to young people in the industry. Since 2016 she has regularly worked with London’s Writer Development Agency Spread the Word, and has also been involved with Penguin Random House’s WriteNow programme, as well as regularly giving talks on careers in publishing and how to get published at universities, schools and literary festivals. She became a Freeman of the Stationers’ Company in 2012, and was Chair of the Young Stationers’ Committee from 2018-2020. In 2021 she was made a Liveryman of the Stationers’ Company and became a Trustee of the Stationers’ Foundation, running their Academic Awards Committee. She is also Treasurer of the Association of Authors’ Agents (2021-2023) and a member of the Female Founders Forum. Ella was included in The Bookseller’s list of Rising Stars in 2013, and was a winner of the London Book Fair Trailblazer Awards 2016 and the Young Stationers’ Prize 2016.
Before co-founding DKW in 2012, Bryony worked at the Caroline Sheldon Literary Agency, and spent several years working in specialist bookshops and libraries. She has worked with top publishers both in the UK and abroad, and loves negotiating publishing contracts to an almost absurd degree. She represents an eclectic mix of talented and award winning writers, including Sunday Times and New York Times bestsellers, with a list spanning from quirky children’s fiction through to YA and adult fiction and non-fiction.
Bryony has an MA in Publishing from University College London and a BA in English Literature from the University of Reading. She previously volunteered as University Liaison Officer for the Society of Young Publishers, where she visited universities across the UK giving talks and workshops to help graduates break into the publishing industry. Bryony was selected by The Bookseller as one of their Rising Stars of 2013, and was a winner of the London Book Fair Trailblazer Awards 2016 and the Young Stationers’ Prize 2016. Through organisations such as the Stationers Company and the WoMentoring Project, she has mentored aspiring writers, agents and editors from a variety of backgrounds to help them gain access to the publishing industry.
For Bryony, protecting authors’ rights, ensuring their careers flourish and championing their work all around the world is more than just a career: it’s a personal passion, along with the belief that the right book at the right moment can truly change the world.
Prior to joining DKW in 2023, Camille worked at David Higham Associates as Agent’s Assistant to Jane Gregory and Assistant to the Children’s Rights team for just over three and a half years. Over her career to date, she has also worked in editorial for an academic publisher, in rights and marketing for an audiobook publisher and as an intern at Felicity Bryan Literary Agency. Camille loves engaging with narratives on a structural level in order to draw out their best qualities. She has varied taste with a particular interest in children’s and YA fiction and non-fiction, as well as adult non-fiction.
Camille has an MSc in Publishing from Edinburgh Napier University and an MA in English Literature from the University of Edinburgh. She currently serves as the Secretary of the Association of Authors’ Agents, as well as Co-Chair for the AAA’s Bridge Committee for early career agents and assistants. She also previously volunteered at the Story Museum in Oxford.
